Last Episode: Sweating for the Wedding

I know it’s been a long time since I last published an episode of Sweating for the Wedding (back in 2020!), but I’m back! Unfortunately, not for very long. I’m here to announce that the Sweating for the Wedding podcast is retiring. I loved helping brides reach their nutrition and fitness goals (and don’t worry, I still will!), but now I’m focusing on a new endeavor, the Launching Forward podcast

On the Launching Forward podcast, I’ll talk about more than just weddings (but you can be sure those topics will be touched on!). I’ll discuss nutrition, wellness, mathematics, entrepreneurship, being a working mom, and so much more.

However, you deserve an explanation of why I’m retiring Sweating for the Wedding. So let’s get into it.

Personal Life

In April 2020, I had a miscarriage, and it was very difficult and eye-opening. Later that year, I got pregnant again and now have an amazing baby boy named Donatello. He’s my angel rainbow baby ❤ I thought my body would be used to pregnancy and not have another issue, but I had another miscarriage the next year in 2022 at eight weeks. I was devastated and shocked. It was then brought to my attention that 30% of women experience miscarriages, but it’s not something openly talked about.

IN 2020, I decided to go back to school and get a nutrition certification. I’m now a certified Nutrition Therapy Practitioner and am continuously pursuing additional education. You never stop learning.

Wedding Industry

Of course, the wedding industry completely stopped during COVID. I didn’t feel right about marketing to brides; I knew they were under immense pressure and stress dealing with cancellations from vendors. I wouldn’t want to hire me so I knew brides wouldn’t either!

Math Tutoring

While I was offering bride nutrition and wellness services, I also had another business on the side: math tutoring. It exploded during the pandemic because students were struggling to keep up when they had to attend classes virtually. I had over 24 clients at one point and 40 hours of coaching calls a week. There were weeks where I almost lost my voice!

Nutrition and Wellness Clients

I also started working with people who had gained weight during the pandemic (didn’t we all?!) It allowed me to work with more people, and I loved it. I also had brides and grooms coming back around 2021 and 2022 saying they’re ready to get married and get back in shape. It all happened so fast, but I’m so grateful.

At that time, I was running two businesses with a newborn and after my 2nd miscarriage , I decided to rebrand to one business that offers both math and nutrition instead of separating them entirely without one audience not knowing about the other. So that’s what I’ve been up to in 2022 and 2023. Oh and now I am pregnant again with our next rainbow baby. Thank you for your support of the Sweating for the Wedding podcast. It means the world to me that you spent time with me learning how to meet your wellness goals for your wedding. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you. If you’d like to keep up with my new podcast, you can listen here – I hope to see you there!
